My fascination with history began many years ago. At school, history was my favourite subject and I would often daydream about famous battles that turned the course of history.
Instead of superheroes, I immersed myself in the world of historical heroes whose selfless actions saved their fellow warriors, allowing their names to live on forever in the history books.
Later in life, when walking with my son through the battlefield of Isandlwana, it struck me how much was lost and how the families must have suffered. It was a surreal moment, especially with my son by my side.
Farming near the the Battlefields of Natal for 26 years, I have had the privilege of spending a lot of time wandering around and getting to know the area. On weekends, with an expert in tow, the battles would be brought to life and we would be transported back in time for a brief moment.
And now, we would love to do the same for you. So join us on a journey through history that puts you in the front row on the battlegrounds of South Africa.
